Who can join this program?

  • Undergraduate and graduate international students with intermediate level of English
  • ISC students who successfully complete English for Academic Purposes

This one or two semester degree preparation program in Canada helps students reach the English language levels for entry to year 3 of an undergraduate degree.

Curriculum

The Transfer Preparation Program enables students to deal with complex academic texts and to produce academic writing, fully referenced and in line with established conventions at university in Canada. A Study Skills course provides opportunities to research and deliver a formal presentation on an academic topic.

Each week, students have 30 hours of class time, plus a 1 hour academic advisory session.

Assessment

Student progress is demonstrated through the production of a portfolio of work drawn from all the Transfer Preparation courses. This, along with final assessments of your English level, provides evidence of your readiness to move to the next step on your journey at university in Canada.

Progression on program completion

On completion of the Transfer Preparation Program you must achieve these language levels to progress:
