What This Program Gives You

As part of this three semester program you will study a range of academic subjects that will develop your English language, quantitative, analytical and interpersonal skills. These skills will provide you with the base for successfully completing an undergraduate degree.

Who is the Program for?

International students who want to study an undergraduate degree at Royal Roads University, but who do not meet the entry requirements for direct entry.

    • Academic Skills for University Success (EAP)
    • Foundations of Global Citizenship (9 credits)
  • Semester 2
    • Research Skills and Strategies(EAP)
    • Canadian Studies (3 credits)
    • Social, Economic and Environmental Sustainability (3 credits)
    • Writing for Success (3 credits)
  • Semester 3
    • Critical Inquiry and Academic Writing Processes (EAP)
    • Academic Writing (3 credits)
    • Civic Engagement and Service learning (3 credits)
    • Introduction to Business Administration - BBA (3 credits) OR
    • Business of Tourism – BAGTM and BAIHM (3 credits)

Progress to Your Undergraduate Degree

Once you complete the program, and achieve the required grades, you will progress to the second year of one of the following undergraduate degrees at Royal Roads University:

Students must follow the business or hospitality stream in Year 2 and meet Year 3 entry requirements for Year 3 entry to BA Professional Communication or Entrepreneurial Management

Extra help with English

If you need to boost your English language skills so that you can meet the entry requirements for studying the International Year program, you can first study one or two terms of the Intensive English Program.
