Fall 2016 Orientation Week

The Royal Roads University International Study Centre kicked off the Fall 2016 semester this month by welcoming students from all over the world including Vietnam, China, Mexico, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, China and many more countries. During the first week of orientation, students registered at the university, setup their university IDs and had their questions answered. International students were also taken on a tour of campus to explore the library, recreation centre and facilities at the university. Students participated in indigenous and Canadian culture education classes that even included a personal tour of the campus forests from Kenneth of the Cowichan Nation (native Canadian tribe).

At the end of the week, students attended the official Orientation Fair on the Castle Lawn Terrace to have their final questions answered and speak with a variety of vendors about setting up personal services. Students and faculty even made early memories by using the photo booth a the fair!

On the final days of Orientation Week, students and faculty took part of a tour of Victoria that included visiting the British Columbia Legislature Building, Mount Tolmie, Beacon Hill Park, China Town, Fisherman's Wharf and Willows Beach. Watch the video below to see in person the tour and review of Orientation this Fall 2016.
